Summit signs service contract with KEPCO-KPS

Summit Meghnaghat Power Company Limited (SMPCL) has signed a long term operations and maintenance (O&M) contract for Summit Meghnaghat Project with KEPCO Plant Service & Engineering Co Ltd (KEPCO-KPS), which is a subsidiary of Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), the state owned power utility in South Korea .

It is one of the largest O&M service company in the world and are currently engaged in O&M services in South Korea for 60,000MW which is about 75 per cent of South Korea ’s total power generation.
 
KEPCO-KPS is also providing O&M services in India , Philippines , Madagascar , Jordan and Mexico among others totaling about 5000MW.
Summit Meghnaghat Project is scheduled to come into operation in July 2013, for which KEPCO-KPS will provide complete service during commissioning and performance testing of the 2xGE9E units and subsequently operate and maintain the 335MW plant.
Faisal K Khan, director of Summit Group and Jae-yuel Kang, executive vice president of KEPCO-KPS signed the contract on behalf of the respective parties while Reaz Uddin, COO of Summit Turbine Division and Choi Jung-Ho, vice president KEPCO-KPS witnessed the contract signing.
