SAN RAMON, Calif., Oct. 27, 2014 - Chevron Corporation (NYSE: CVX) today announced that its Bangladesh subsidiary has commenced natural gas production from the Bibiyana Expansion Project in the northeastern part of the country.
The project included an expansion of the existing gas plant to process increased natural gas volumes from the Bibiyana Field, additional development wells and an enhanced gas liquids recovery unit. PDB proposes 18.12% bulk power tariff hike
The Power Development Board (PDB) has proposed to Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) to raise electricity tariff at bulk level by 18.12% or Tk0.81 per unit.
The hike, if approved, will take the price of electricity to Tk5.51 per unit from the existing Tk4.70 at bulk level. The production cost of each unit of power is around Tk6.54 and the PDB is thus losing Tk1.84 [...]
Bakhrabad-5, a well at Bakhrabad gas field, started supplying around 5.0 million cubic feet per day (mmcfd) of natural gas to national grid from Sunday, a senior Petrobangla official said.
