Career Development for Bangladeshi Engineers

In a rapidly changing automotive employment landscape, career development and networking event increasingly important for newly graduates Bangladeshi engineers in North America. For individuals, it can be the necessary springboard for getting hired. Due to current engineering job market, American Association of Bangladeshi Engineers and Architects (AaBea) Michigan and Great Lakes Chapter organized a career development and Networking Event at Troy Community center on August 16. The daylong workshop had sessions on keynote speaker, resume writing techniques, interview tips and tricks, current job market demand, and overall networking between experience and successful engineers from different field to newly college graduates. HRU, Aerotech, Detroit Engineering Products (DEP), and HR professionals from General Motors, Fiat – Chrysler Automotive, conducted these sessions. Students from all over the USA and CANADA participated in this event.

Monir Zaman, President of AaBea Michigan and Great Lakes Chapter started the meeting with welcome speech. Doug Wickham and Krystyna Clever from General motors leadership team, Dulal Mostafa from Fiat Chrysler recruiting team, Radha Krishnan from DEP delivered motivational and directional speeches on job opportunity and current market demand.

Dr. Zakirul Haque, The elected President of AaBea central committee, a good number of Engineers from GM, Ford, Fiat- Chrysler, Consumer Energy, Continental and other automotive Tier 1 and 2 supplier companies attended. Sadek Rahman, President elected and coordinator thanks to all of those involved in the AaBea program for giving young engineers such an opportunity. Very special thanks to the Mentors who take valuable time out of their day to volunteer their efforts and experience to the next generation of professionals.
