Ten persons were burnt alive and 12 others injured when a gas tanker caught fire and exploded on the highway near Beelpur village, 35 kms from Jaipur on Saturday night.Seven vehicles going through the highway at the time also caught fire. Radiant Shipyard of Narayanganj has constructed Bangladesh’s first indigenous ship capable of carrying Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG). Cabinet Division Additional Secretary Istiaque Ahmad has been appointed as chairman of Petrobangla. Istiaq Ahmed, additional secretary of the cabinet division, was made the new chairman of Petrobangla on Wednesday. Public Administration Ministry issued a notification in this regard. The post of state-owned organisation fell vacant when previous chairman Hussain Monsur’s tenure ended on October18.  
Bangladesh Petroleum Exploration and Production Company Limited (Bapex) has started to extract gas at Shahbazpur Gas Field 3 in Bhola on an experimental basis. Bangladesh Petroleum Exploration and Production Company (Bapex) Friday started drilling at Mubarakpur gas-field in Sathia upazila of the district.
