France Wont Shut Any More Atomic Reactors

The authorities of France are not planning to close the nuclear power plants that belong to Electricite de France, except the oldest in the country the Fessenheim NPP. This was announced by the Minister for Industrial Development of France Arno Monteburg in his interview to Bloomberg. According to him the nuclear power engineering offers competitive advantage to the French industry from the point of view of efficiency, while the investments into the nuclear power engineering allow keeping the energy prices a level lower than anywhere else. Moreover, earlier in the process of the election campaign the former president candidate Francois Holland promised to reduce the share of the nuclear energy in the energy basket of France from the current 75% to 50%.
