India and Bangladesh to intensify renewable energy cooperation

The Second Joint Working Group (JWG) meeting was held on November 28, 2013 in Dhaka. The Indian delegation led by Mr. A.K. Dhussa, Adviser, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. The Bangladesh delegation was led by Mr. Mohammad Hossain, Director General, Power Cell, Power Division, Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources. During the meeting, both the countries agreed to intensify the cooperation in the areas of research collaboration, academic collaboration on renewable energy, information exchange, institutional and technical support. Both sides also agreed on tentative time frame for series of exchange of visits by both sides focusing on the areas of wind energy, solar energy, bio-gas and Biomass Gasification. The next meeting of the Joint Working Group will take place in September 2014 in New Delhi.
