The Power Grid Company of Bangladesh (PGCB) will construct a 7-km long 132 kV transmission line for the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant (RNPP) project to facilitate the power supply during the plant’s construction works.
The steel-pole transmission line from Iswardi of Pabna to Rooppur will cost Tk 320 million.
A Chinese joint venture of ZTT and Sinotech won the contract to construct the line within the next one year on a turnkey basis. The RNPP will bear the expense of the transmission line.
PGCB and the Chinese JV company entered into a deal on Monday in this regard. PGCB Company Secretary Ashraf Hossain and ZTT chief representative Chen Zhiguang signed the contract on behalf of their respective sides.
PGCB Managing Director Masum Al Beruni, ZTT Group Vice-president Qu Zhi and other officials of the two companies were present on the occasion.
