The Power Division has won the ‘Digital Bangladesh Award 2022’ for ensuring efficiency, transparency and accountability alongside improving the quality of customer service by implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina addressed the programme as the chief guest marking the Digital Bangladesh Dibos-2022 and distributing prizes among the winners of the online quiz competition and Digital Bangladesh Puruskar (award)-2022.
The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division organised the function at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) in the capital with the theme “Advanced Technology, Inclusive Development.”
State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak handed over the award to the power division secretary Md Habibur Rahman in presence of the premier.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid said, “We are increasing the use of technology to deliver services to people’s doorsteps. We have successfully implemented the ERP for the first time in power division.”
“The ERP will make quick decisions, reduce costs, ensure transparency and accountability, review performance, exchange of information, ensure informational security in the department,” he said.
Nasrul also said that technology will effectively contribute to identify the future challenges, he said, adding, “Previously, we have also received the ‘Freedom Award-2022’ in recognition of our contribution to the socio-economic development of the country through 100% electrification successfully during the Mujib Barsha.”
