A contract will May be signed today between Bangladesh and Russia on Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant (NPP). Monday, former prime minister of Russia and Director General of Rosatom Sergey Kirienko arrived Bangladesh on the purpose. Tuesday he has a meeting with the prime minister.
Source informs, after the discussing of last few days ministry science finalizing the whole thing. Final decision will be taken after discussing the issue with PM on Tuesday. Rooppur nuclear power plant is in the final stage after the discussions over the last few years. Already two agreements were signed between Bangladesh and Russia.
Russia will provide loan as well as required fuel and west management for the project and they also will help in Maintenance, infrastructure development, human resource, technical support for the project.
Rooppur nuclear power plant is governments one of the ‘first track’ project. The project estimated $1,350cr. Russia will provide 90 per cent and government will manage the rest.
