Science Festival “In Fact – 2017” by Rosatom From September 25

Russian State Atomic Energy Corporation ROSATOM is going to host a four-day science festival titled “InFact” from September 25-28, 2017 in Dhaka.  The festival will formally be inaugurated at 10.30 am at a ceremony to be held at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Novotheatre Dhaka on Tuesday, September 26.The main goal of the festival is to raise awareness among the young generation in Bangladesh in the nuclear field and to promote science and technology.

The festival will include various programs like lecture sessions with the participation of Russian and Bangladeshi experts, demonstration of documentary films, interactive sessions, intellectual games, popular science talk shows among others. The Festival will take place at different venues: Jahangirnagar University on September 25, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Novotheatre Dhaka and University of Dhaka on September 26 , Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) and Russian Center of Science and Culture Dhaka on September 27 and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Novotheatre Dhaka on September 28,2017.

Aleksey Pimenov, Regional Vice-President of Rosatom South Asia, said, “Not only will the Science Festival become a venue for popularization of science and an instrument for generation of ideas for subsequent development, but it will also facilitate strengthening international relations. The Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant is a symbol of Russian-Bangladeshi relations in the area of nuclear energy. We hope that Russian-Bangladesh cooperation will continue to develop successfully and the festival will give an opportunity to the participants to learn how nuclear technologies facilitate improvement of the quality of life of the population, about current practices of their use and their role in sustainable development of the country.”

Rostislav Kuznetsov, Head of Radiochemistry, Dimitrovgrad Engineering Technological Institute; Dr. Sharabura Tatiana, Radiation Oncologist,; Elia Kabanov, a science journalist and Bangladeshi experts will speak  at different sessions, organized  for experts, journalists, students and teachers among others.

The festival is being  managed by ANPO Energy of the Future, a concern of Rosatom and is supported by ASE Group of Companies ,a subsidiary of ROSATOM, Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Novotheatre Dhaka , University of Dhaka, BUET Nuclear Engineering Club (BNEC), Jahangirnagar University, Russian Center of Science and Culture Dhaka, Information Center of Nuclear Energy (ICONE) in Dhaka.
